Can Family

This is the Can family. Enrique and Maria are parents of seven children. Now that their kids have grown, they are in charge of their grandchildren. Enrique and his wife live in a small house with only one room and a kitchen. The parents of their grandchildren work in Sololá, thirty minutes away, and sadly they can’t take care of their kids. They go out to work every day at 4 am collecting sand to sell, making around Q75/$10 a day.
